SUMMARY

The Research Libraries Group, Inc combined with OCLC Online Computer

Library Center, Inc on July 1, 2006 OCLC is pleased to be able to continue

to work with CERL on the development and promotion of the Hand Press

Book database

Work to complete the agreement between CERL and RLG/OCLC was a top

priority CERL and RLG-OCLC staff worked together to meet this goal

As in previous years, RLG/OCLC staff was pleased to continue working

closely with CERL staff, committee members, and file contributors to add

new files and updates to the Hand Press Book database (HPB)

RLG participated in the CERL Advisory Task Group, Executive Committee,

and Annual General meetings, answered queries, and responded to the

needs of CERL member users of HPB We also served both CERL members and subscribers to HPB with account management, search assistance, and training

During the previous year, there were 26 subscribers to HPB, and among

these are library consortia that provide access to more than 30 additional

institutions 26 institutions also accessed HPB on a per-search basis

As in past years, the RLG Information Center set up accounts for CERL

member institutions to provide reading room access based on IP

addresses, enabled communication between RLG’s Z39.50 server and

individual CERL member client software, as well as responded to inquiries

regarding HPB and CERL from libraries, scholars, and booksellers

The majority of staff in the RLG Service Center is now working on the

migration of the RLG databases to the OCLC headquarters in Dublin, Ohio
