Stock market serves as a tool for evaluating business performance Thus,investors need to prepare adequate knowledge about finance, the economy andskills of analyzing financial statement "There are investors who only participate instock market with "3 letters" (stock code) but do not know in what the businessruns, and how They invest based on emotions and the majority of people, not on ananalytical, judgmental basis” – Hoang Van Cuong (Prof Dr)

Tai Viet JSC went into operation starting from the original idea ofproviding in-depth information in the securities industry to investors and thegeneral public through the website www.vietstock.com.vn By the end of 2005,thanks to the breakthrough development of the stock market as well as thecreation of a website platform and stable number of user from before, VietstockForum has grown strongly with hundreds of thousands of visitors per day,

became the top securities forum in Vietnam at that time A year later, thecompany's leaders were determined to transform from a private enterprise to ajoint stock company, defining Vietstock's development strategy as the top onlinefinancial information provider in Vietnam Accordingly, Tai Viet Joint StockCompany was established on January 13th, 2006, changing the website addressfrom www.vietstock.com.vn to www.vietstock.vn.

Through more than 20 years of establishment and development, theCompany has overcome many difficulties and challenges to get the stabledevelopment and solid position as it is today

As a joint stock company, Tai Viet is made up of Board of Managementwhich is supervised by General meeting of shareholders and Supervisory Boardand includes 5 main departments: IT department, administrative and accountingdepartment, data department, consultant department and business developmentdepartment

1.1.2 Overview of Data Department of Tai Viet Join Stock Company

The Data department provides 3 main products and services including:VietstockFinance, VietstockXLS and VietstockResearch In which,VietstockFinance is an in-depth and reputable financial website serving the needs

of securities investment research and analysis By a VietstockFinance account,customers are allowed to extract flexible and unlimited data such as financialstatement, financial ratios, financial transactions, macro financial data (CPI, FDI,GDP, interest rate, population…) VietstockXLS provides macroeconomic -financial - securities data in the form of excel files provided by customers.VietstockResearch is a website where customers will have to buy an account toaccess financial statement data on demand VietstockResearch is suitable forsecurities companies, financial institutions, analysts – researchers, consultant andbroker Besides, Data department also co-operates with IT department to develop

a special services for listed companies, which is called DataFeed DataFeedintegrates flexible economic and financial data into customer’s applications, webportals, and other digital platforms

Recently, VietstockXLS is the main service of Data department, in whichcustomers send their needs through email However, Data department isgradually develops VietstockFinance and VietstockXLS in parallel to optimizethe experience of customers Instead of sending email, customers can register anaccount in website of VietstockFinance with 4 levels: Free, Basic, Pro andPremium to extract the data they need The customers just have to send theirrequirement through email when the data they need cannot be extracted byaccount VietstockFinance.

There are 2 types of information which Data department need to update:periodic information and non-periodic information Regarding periodicinformation such as annual report, financial statement and resolution of generalmeeting of shareholders, 8 members of data department are all responsible forprocess and update data to make sure the data is updated within 24 hours after theinformation is published During the period when there are no periodicinformation, members will be in charge of different types of non-periodicinformation such as dividend announcement, new listing, tradingderegistration/delisting, additional listing or change of company information

It is can be seen that revenue of Tai Viet JSC from 2019 to 2021 has asharp decrease from 15 million VND to over 10 million VND This is due to thesignificant impact of Covid-19 pandemic on stock market

In 2019, Vietnam’s financial market developed strongly thanks to stablefiscal policy, monetary easing and low inflation compared to previous years Inaddition, Vietnam has become an ideal destination for foreign investment flowsdue to its outstanding growth rate Those factors created favorable conditions forstock market to progress notably As a result, revenue of Vietstock in 2019 washigh because of the strong demand for updated information services about stock,which Vietstock was being a leading channel at that time In contrast, stockmarket has a negative trend in 2020 and 2021 The Covid-19 pandemic began tospread in Vietnam in early 2020 Although the Government used many strictmeasures, it had not been able to completely prevent the spread of the disease.Under the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam’s economy experiencedvery unpredictable fluctuations This circumstance lasted until 2021 Thus, theneed for services about stock reduced due to the increase in risk of stock market.Consequently, revenue and profit after tax of Tai Viet JSC in 2020 and 2021 waslow compared to the previous years

Meanwhile total revenue of Tai Viet JSC has a downtrend, revenue ofdata department slightly increases Revenue of Data department mainly comesfrom 3 products VietstockFinance, VietstockXLS and VietstockResearch Table

1.2 illustrates the revenue of Data department from 2019 to 2021 and itscontribution to total revenue of Tai Viet JSC.

The revenue of Data department rose because target customer of datadepartment is mostly analysts, companies, institution and long-term investors,who are always demand for financial data and the number of target customerincreases year by year In other word, target customer of other products andservices of Tai Viet JSC are affected considerably by stock market while that ofData Department is not affected too much Therefore, the contribution of Datadepartment to Tai Viet JSC increases in 2020 and 2021, when the stock market

is unstable In addition to providing data for other department, Data departmentalso plays an important role in balancing the total revenue of the company

1.2 Summary of the internship

It was honored for me to take a data processing internship at Tai Viet JSC.During over 2-month internship period, I received great support and guidance fromleader and other seniors in data department The team gave me opportunity toobserve, learn and approach actual work at data department

In the first month, I was assigned a task of importing real-time data fromannual reports, financial reports, and resolution of general meeting of shareholders

of companies that are listed in HoSE, HNX, UPCOM According to those reports, Ihad to import data which serves as sources for investors to analyze businessperformance of listed companies such as organizational structure, revenue, laborforce structure, management structure, and revenue target This work requires me toknow the purpose and format of annual report, financial report and resolution ofgeneral meeting of shareholders

In the following month, I was in charge of importing financial statement into asystem of the company, which can calculate financial ratio immediately July 20th

2022 was the deadline for listed company to publish their financial statement of thesecond quarter in 2022 so that I and my team have to work overtime every day tomake sure the data of financial statement being updated as soon as possible To bemore specific, financial statement of listed companies after published is scanned bysoftware called ABBYY finereader to convert pdf into excel file These files werecontinuously imported to other software and the company’s system then makes thecalculation to figure out financial ratios such as P/E, EPS… and sync with thewebsite finance.vietstock.vn This task requires thoroughness, accuracy andtimeliness However, this part will not be illustrated in this report due to the limitedlength

Notwithstanding the limited internship period, I had a chance to receivepractical knowledge about how to process data from reports then provide to clients.Besides, I need to apply knowledge that has been taught in Foreign TradeUniversity such as Law in Finance – Banking It is a valuable opportunity for me tolearn and work at a professional environment and to apply knowledge and skills topractical work Hence, I am able to set the goals for future expectation related tostock market

CHAPTER 2: RECEIVING AND PROCESSING DATA PROCEDURE AT

TAI VIET JOINT STOCK COMPANY 2.1 Overview of receiving and processing data procedure at Tai Viet Joint Stock Company.

The Data Department is responsible for managing the financial data WebTool(macroeconomics, industry, enterprises, securities…) of the company; responsiblefor implementing, assigning to perform input and output stages of data according tothe goal of "Bringing to the community accurate - objective - fully updatedinformation” The processed data will be simultaneously provided to the Consultingdepartment and stored in the company's WebTool to sell as products of the Datadepartment

I was in charge of updating the periodic information The procedure isillustrated in Chart 2.1

The procedure includes 4 main steps of processing data which begins withreceiving reports from stock exchange In this process, step 2 and step 3 are themost important steps because all data imported must be accurate so that theinvestors have sources for their analysis Moreover, whether the data is correct ornot can reflect the prestige of Tai Viet JSC because the data will be syncedimmediately on website and will be sold for customers who need data for research.Thus, person in charge of this work have to make sure all the information is correctcomply with Enterprise Law and Securities Law.

2.2 Steps of receiving and processing data at Tai Viet Joint Stock Company 2.2.1 Step 1: Receive reports from stock exchanges

The first step of the procedure of receiving and processing data is to receivenecessary reports that the companies submit on stock exchange Reports of listedcompany in HoSE can be taken from hsx.vn while that in HNX and UPCOM can betaken from hnx.vn There are 3 type of reports needed: annual report, financialstatement, resolution or minutes of general meeting of shareholders

According to Circular No 155/2015/TT-BTC dated October 6, 2015 of theMinistry of Finance Guiding information disclosure on the stock market, a publiccompany must disclose its audited annual financial statements within 10 days fromthe date the audit organization signs the audit report, but not more than 90 daysfrom the end of the fiscal year (in case the State Securities Commission extends it,

no more than 100 days) Annual financial statement illustrates detailed businessoutcomes of the listed company so that investors can analyze the businessperformance Annual report must be published no later than 20 days after the date ofpublication of the audited annual financial statements but not later than 120 daysfrom the end of the fiscal year Annual report demonstrates management structure,shareholder structure and major shareholder structure, on which investor can based

to analyze performance of board of directors, to take into consideration whetherboard of director is trustworthy and gives the strategic decisions or not Resolution
