1 Background
Nowadays, part-time job is very popular among college students It is gradually becoming anessential part in their lives Although there are various choices in different fields, most of themtend to work by the industry they choose at school Therefore, I will do a research on part-timejob tendency of IBD students
2 Rationale/ purpose of the research
As we know, these days young people in Vietnam always want to have a part-time job whilethey are in university It has become really popular among students and even adults, as it isaffordable and easily becomes “addictive” Consequently, in the need of finding part-timejobs, this brings more working experiences to college students Therefore, I decided to do aresearch in order to have a deeper understanding about IBD students’ point of view on thetrend of working part-time jobs
In my research, I would like to gather some information about IBD Intake 14 students’perspective on the trend of working part-time jobs It will help me understand more about thejobs and the reasons why they are interested in doing part-time work

CHAPTER II: LITERATURE REVIEW
1 Definition of part-time job
That is the term used to refer to part-time jobs, often targeting subjects: students, housewives
taking advantage of free time to earn extra income Besides, working part time is also a wayfor you to learn and accumulate experience, thicken your CV when you apply for a job in thefuture In the restaurant industry - the hotel has many positions to recruit employees as parttime so that candidates can apply for: Service staff, Kitchen accessories, Reception the mostpopular is the Service staff These positions often do not require experience, instead of thehard work, agility of candidates
2 About the time
You do not have time constraints, do not need to be present at work You are also entitled togive your free time to the employer to arrange and assign accordingly This is also the biggestadvantage of part time work
3 About the income
Salary depends on your agreement with the employer but is often not a fixed number because
it depends on the quality of work, the size of the business, the importance of the job
4 Welfare policy
Part-time jobs have absolutely no or very few policies and social benefits such as healthinsurance, social insurance, and unemployment insurance At the same time, you will not beallowed to participate in activities of the unit such as periodic health examination, teambuilding And you will work for a short time so do not have a long-term contract, so thechances for advancement are very few

Advantages:
Work experience: Part-time work brings a real work experience This work experience willhelp get a job after completing the research Employers look for employees who understandthe working environment and work well as part of the team Having a part-time experienceshows that you have some contact with the professional world and it will bring advantagesover other candidates in the job search process
Money: Of course, money is the factor that leads you to a part-time job You can pay yourbills, pay your tuition, buy what you need, and that will reduce the cost of your educationcompared to your parents
Money management: No one makes a budget with the pocket money they get from theirparents, but when you start making money and you spend hard-earned money, then you startthinking about it and plan on how to how and where you will spend your money and howmuch you spend and how much you save
Time management: Doing work with learning makes you have less time and busy schedules,
so you have to manage time in such a way that both your study and work will not be affected.Develop useful skills: In your part-time job, you will develop many useful skills that will helpyou in professional life such as teamwork, organizational skills, multi-tasking, management.time, skills to meet initiatives in work, etc
Opportunity to connect: Yes, in your part-time job, you will meet many people from theprofessional world This is an opportunity to grow your network
Disadvantages
Influence learning: While working part-time, you will have a busy schedule and you will haveless time to study and yourself You will not have time to relax, so you feel tired andexhausted and your learning will be done
Trang 7There are no additional benefits: Part-time employees often do not receive benefits such ashealth insurance, sick leave, vacation pay, etc If you get sick and take leave then you will not
be paid for that
No job security: There is less work security for the timer In bad times, often companies putthem out before the full timers
Health: Because you will have a busy schedule and have less time for yourself, it will alsoaffect your health
Distraction from research: Sometimes, the timer department has a good income and that maycause them to lose focus on research The more money you have, the more you think about it

Nowadays, the use of part-time jobs in Viet Nam has been increasing a lot in the recent years We can see and find the part-time jobs everywhere, such as a coffee shop, a restaurant or an English center Due to the demand and the development of society, the labor force is also necessary Explaining this phenomenon, the market research unit that: cause is due to flexible time, no experience required, increased income, gain some experience and skills, great job opportunities.

Figure 3: Purpose of working part-timeAccording to the figure 3, the chart shows us that the result is very clear 41% of studentsparticipating in the survey said that earning money is their main purpose of doing part-timejob, which is take the biggest part of the chart With a reasonable salary, it can totally be asource of income for some students The second biggest is 26% of IBD students who do thatjob to learn experiences and make new friends It is easy to see that is the suitable place forstudent to find experiences so that they become better and better, more and more mature Onthe other hand, only 7% who chose this job to learn business

In the figure 4&5 chart, we can see that there are 83% IBD students’ work for 4 hours for aday and 56% who work 3 to 5 days for a week, which take the highest point of the charts Thisproportion shows that most students still spend their time studying and resting properly Onthe other hand, there are 17% who work for 8 hours or more than 8 hours for a day Maybethey will be very hard to manage their own time table The next highest percentage are 33%students working part-time for a week and 11% students spend 1-3 days to work

In figure 6, 61% of respondents in the survey said that they can earn 2 millions to 4 millions in a month, which takes the highest point of the chart The next highest is 28% of IBD students’ who earns less than 2 millions a month and there are only 11% who receives more than 4 millions.
Maybe they may have higher positions than a normal staffs
In figure 8, there are 67% who are satisfied and absolutely satisfied with that salary, while
the percentage of people in the survey are unsatisfied with that salary just has 33%

Trang 14for students Comparison is a good action, which help people recognize strengths andweaknesses of themselves to try to improve Next, there are 16% of students think thatstrictness from the boss is the reason of cause pressure With difficult bosses, it is extremelydifficult for them to do it So, the strictness of the boss is a great pressure for the students Onthe other hand, there are only 3% of students in the survey think that the cause of the job putpressure for students to go to work part-time is other reasons.
3 Suggestions to overcome challenges when they do part-time jobs

Trang 16than 8 hours per day After furrther invesstigation, we learned 20% solution is spending 8hours per day for work because they do not have a lot of times and their healthcare not good.Also some even said that they do not need to work a lot becaude their parents has been pay alot of money for them The remaining 32% said the good way is reasonable time divisionbecause they need to know the balance between learning and doing part-time jobs to get thebest results and avoid affecting to study.
Some ideas that to do a good part-time jobs, students have to: arrange for a reasonable time,people should know their strengths and weaknesses, make a timetable for learning andworking, try to find another way to make their work easier so that they can shorten the timethey need to finish their work, concentrate on their work and learn more new things Finally,students should follow the rule properly and be friendlier
IBD students have given different opinions about the solution deals with the issuessurrounding the IBD students’ perspectives on the trend of choosing part-time jobs Onceagain, the respondents are asked to give some suggest to reduce the solve of part-time jobs.They offer a number of solutions, such as relocating, refreshing schedules, leaving theworkforce and relying on parental support, should balance the time between study and work.Furthermore, some respondents commented that they should try harder by the heart
CHAPTER IV: RECOMMENDATIONS
Firstly, part-time job is an experience that students should have It helps you gain experience,struggle in your life and create new relationships Not everyone has a good job with a lot ofincome at the start, so you need to try to understand as well as possible, show your ability toget a suitable job
Secondly, part-time jobs is not for lazy people The harder your work, the easier to reach yourdreams, easier to reach higher positions in your life Part-time job is the first piece for you tocomplete the picture of your life
