1 Rationale

In the renovation of the current way of managing teaching and learning, the University of Education promptly approached digital-based training, Moodle, a platform software for a training management system (LMS) and has created many online courses with high interaction Open source and flexibility give developers the ability to easily add the necessary modules, which is an advantage

in using Moodle However, besides Moodle has many features and functions for the online training system, the list of smart timetables has not appeared in the system administration module The lack of a smart timetable feature has more or less caused management difficulties, according to the courses for both teachers and students Therefore, if the Moodle system is set up more smart timetable features, the management and tracking of courses in the school will be much easier Teachers and students will ensure more timely attendance at the classroom, the quality of student management and teachers will be improved The lookup of the teacher's assignment schedule, the ease of class schedules, information about class schedules, exam schedules, and school activities will also

be fully updated and notified to students and staff department in the school and from there also enhance the image of a modern, professional school For that reason, we chose the topic "Research to build Smart Timetable on the basis of LMS-Moodle for the teaching of teachers in the form of Blended learning at the University of Education" which is both acute set and meaning science in organizing teaching in a new form Develop Smart Timetable on the basis of Moodle online learning with feasibility, flexibility and science criteria to improve skills, methods and effectiveness in teaching and learning at the University of Education

2 Research methods

2.1 Methods of analysis and synthesis of theory:

3 Literature review

3.1 Overview of learning model combining Blended Learning and

Moodle online learning platform:

Based on the current need to innovate the quality of education, domestic education is actively updating online learning systems in which, according to Moodle, is an open source used in open-source LMS in the University of Education However, most of the schools are only focusedon the organization and quality of training, but have not paid much attention and have specific solutions in managing the learning process, particularly here is not building a system Online education manager To serve the needs of managing training activities, there are many applications to create timetables built up such as SmartScheduler, School.com, but these are standalone applications that have not been integrated to useon the Moodle platform Therefore, although Moodle

3.2 Classifying scheduling problems and approaches

In the field of theoretical and practical research of construction research topic on the smart timetable, there have been many scientific reports and surveys and assessments published in studying the scheduling problem Most of the reports confirm that it is very difficult and difficult to set up a school scheduling problem, especially for universities The larger the number of variables to remember, the more difficult it is in the scheduling process To serve the needs of managing training activities, there are many applicationsthat create timetables built-up such

as SmartScheduler, School.com, but these are standalone applications that have not been integrated to useon theMoodle platform There are a lot of scheduling problems right now, but none are perfect because each one has its advantages and disadvantages However, we can overcome it with software to improve the scheduling process, in addition to another solution still in the process

of research and development that is using Tri technology Artificial intelligence (AI) to automate and discover new problems during the scheduling process In summary, up to now, no scheduling problem is completely 100% completed, so

it is still necessary to find technical solutions to remove the barriers in the current scheduling process

3.2.1 Imitate smart schedule on Google Calendar

To classify scheduling problems and approaches, we imitated University of Education schedule on Google Calendar based on real schedules of one class in school

Application created by Google to set up new schedules and manage time This app is free and user just need to sign in Google account to use the calendar app Google Calendar is a popular application because it is easy to use, all pieces of information saved on the cloud computing system, exists on webs and available

on IOS and Android so that user do not have to download anyspecial software to access the calendar Other than that, Google Calendar has a lot of features that can help users save time when creating new schedules

4 The pilot of smart schedule by Google Calendar:

Step 1: To create a new calendar, click the little plus sign (+) next to

"Othercalendars," and select theoption "Create new calendar."

Then click “ Create calendar”

You can color-code to easier follow each schedule

Step 3: Add guest, location or video conference if needed then click “Save”

This is a complete class schedule

Step 4: To create in detail, click “More options” beside the option “Save” You

can set timerepeat or not and set up a notification

Step 5: To share calendar, click “Setting and sharing”, then click “Share with specific people”

In the Share with specific people section, click Add people and enter the email

address or names of the people who want to share with

Choose a sharing permission option then click Send

Right after that, people who you share calendar will receive a confirmation email

5 Recommendation:

Assess the advantages and disadvantages of current schedulingproblems 5.1 Advantage of Google Calendar

Google Calendar is one of the most popular applications to schedule because of its simple interface, easily maneuverable and flexible to manage schedule because it allows to access in any different devices and platforms Getting stared with a Gmail account, we can improve the organization Google calendar

ii Google Calendar is easy to send invitations to other people or share with anyone we choose by grants permission levels to see or allows to edit the contents of a calendar, this is is an invaluable tool It helps users pick the right and can control the calendar to share

iii Another utility of Google Calendaris that it can sync with Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCal, and similar programs Google Calendar is not only for use on the computer, but also compatible with smartphones Smartphones can be synced with Google Calendar to perform all the functions that computers exclude so that even without a computer, everything still stays organized

iv Besides accessing the calendar, users can schedule meetings, integrate with meeting software so that easily add meeting links to thecalendar invites and set upreminders before of any meeting of theschedules Also users can use Google Calendar to book time in the various conference room which is the nearest These benefits help users save time so that they can improve productivity on works

5.2 Limitation of Google Calendar

About disadvantages, Google Calendar still might have minor glitches such as reminders for events that are not properly saved or get notifications about the

meetings at weird times but that is stillthe thing in control Although Google Calendar can be easily accessible by phone but with the browser users need to sign in google account and must have access to the access the calendar

5.3 Situation of managing smart timetables on the Moodle platform of

the University of Education

5.4 Recommendations for further studies

After complete overview research of learning model combining Blended Learning and Moodle online learning platform and rationale and practical basis for scheduling problem, we aregoing to building Smart Timetable on LMS-Moodle platform across to three activities:

5.4.1 Activity 1: Building the structure and working principle of the smart

timetable We will Use the admin account to test the deployment of thesmart timetable module on Moodle of UEd

5.4.2 Activity 2: Write software to add the Smart Timetable feature to LMS-

Moodle in collaboration with the Faculty of Information Technology - University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Hanoi We

expect will complete software for adding the Smart Timetable feature to LMS-Moodle

5.4.3 Activity 3: Organize testing We are going to run successfully the smart

timetable on the LMS-Moodle platform of the University of Education

6 Conclusion:

After research and experiment with Google Calendar to create a schedule for one class at the University of Education, we have acquired some experiences that might be appliedto the contribution of the smart schedule on LMS-Moodle First, we need a simple and straightforward interface for every user to understand and easily use calendar even with a non-technical person This application should

be a friendly interface so that users will be not confused when accessing

Second, the smart schedule should be divided into two groups, one for teachers and one for students Teacher will have permission to edit schedules and students only can see schedules to avoid any mistake that could happen

Third, the smart schedule must have reminder features with an exact timeline to system send reminder email to every student and teachers of the school

Fourth, the schedule interface of teachers should have color addiin and toggle on and off the calendar so that teachers can easily know which events belong to which calendar, it’s especially helpful when a teacher has multiple classes Fifth, need to focus on creating import and exploring feature to smart schedule

on LMS-Moodle so that the calendar which is created on another service such as Exel of Microsoft can import straightforward to the calender of in case users create directly on Moodle schedule, they can easily export to any different service without start creating again on another program

Sixth, connecting with other services is crucially important, for example when studying online by video call applications such as Meeting, Zoom, it will be easier if they have notification to remind class or appointment at what time in which service This will help no one can be late or forget and have more responsibility to take part in their class or any appointment
