1 The urgency of the topic
Political education work, mindset for the public security student in general, and patriotism, in particular, is one of the most important missions
in instruction work, training of the Public Security schools, play a significant role in forming and evolving the character of the students and the officers, soldiers Public Security Thereby, contributing to training, providing, and supplementing enough high-quality human resources to meet the working need and combat requirements of the entire force in the period
of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country and
international integration
Currently, the world is going through an unstable complicated and period of rapid, complicated and unpredictable changes: ethnic and religious conflicts, international terrorism, economic wars, cyber wars, and interventionist activities Interventions, disputes over sovereignty, territory, resources take place in new and more acute forms Global and non-traditional security issues such as food security, energy security, water security, financial security, cyber security, climate change, natural disasters, epidemics are serious In order to develop the country, Vietnam is opening up for integration, exchange and economic development cooperation, which has brought the country many great achievements But the country is also affected by external influences such as the downside of the market economy: the gap between the rich and poor, corruption, crime, pragmatism, individualism, chasing lifestyle unethical currency; hostile forces at home and abroad are working day and night against the Party and State with conspiracies, methods, tricks and especially the strategy of
"peaceful evolution" to abolish the leadership of the Party Vietnamese Communists the above factors have had a significant impact on patriotism
education for students of the People's Public Security schools today
In addition, the diverse, complex and sophisticated variations of crime types
in the integration period, place a great responsibility on the shoulders of the Vietnamese People's Police force Maintaining national security and social order
Trang 4and safety is a great and proud responsibility of the People's Public Security force Therefore, the education of patriotism for students of the People's Public Security schools in Ho Chi Minh City is now a particularly important and urgent task, which is a prerequisite for forming a contingent of police officers Ministers and soldiers of the People's Public Security have solid political skills, pure moral qualities, are adept at the law and are sharp in the art of preventing and fighting crime, maintaining security, safety and order of society
Due to many reasons, the current patriotic education for students of the People's Public Security schools in Ho Chi Minh City is not very effective and has not met the requirements of the task of protecting national security , maintaining social order and safety in the conditions of market economy development and international integration Working in the People's Public Security School, we wish to contribute a small part of our efforts to the education
of the country, to educate patriotism and national pride for students of the People's Public Security schools in Ho Chi Minh City, this is the place to train officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security for the provinces from Quang
Tri to Ca Mau With that in mind, the author chooses the topic: "Educating
patriotism for students of the People's Public Security schools in Ho Chi Minh City today" for the doctoral thesis, this is a very necessary content , has topical
meaning, scientific and practical significance is very deep

On the basis of analyzing theoretical and practical problems of patriotism education for students of People's Public Security schools in Ho Chi Minh City today, the thesis proposes some basic solutions version to further improve the quality of patriotism education for students of the People's Public Security schools in Ho Chi Minh City today

From the inheritance of the achievements of the predecessors, based on the purpose and task of the thesis has suggested to the author quite a lot of problems that need to be focused on deeply researching and solving:

Vietnamese patriotism; especially pointing out the inheritance, innovation, enhancement and expansion of patriotic content in the current conditions
Secondly, on the basis of analyzing the characteristics of education and
training of Public Security schools in Ho Chi Minh City today, the thesis will determine the content and specific forms suitable for education
Thirdly, identify and analyze the factors that affect the education of
patriotism for students
Fourthly, the analysis and evaluation of the situation include:

2.1 Education of Vietnamese patriotism
2.1.1 On educational concepts; patriotism
* The concept of education: Education is a process of purposeful, organized, contented impact using many scientific methods of the educator to the mental and physical development of the educated person, in order to foster them to acquire the qualities and competencies as the requirements have been set
*The concept of patriotism: Patriotism is the principle of political ethics,
a social feeling whose overarching content is love and loyalty to the Fatherland, is the pride of the past and present about the Fatherland, the country itself, is the determination and the will to build and protect the Fatherland, protecting the country's rivers
2.1.2 The concept of patriotism education for students
* The concept of patriotic education: Patriotism is a system of views that directs emotions, attitudes, actions, behaviors of every citizen to his country
* The concept of patriotic education for students of Public Security Schools: Is the process of purposeful and systematic impact of Party committees, socio-political organizations on students with the main content
of Marxist -Leninist education; Ho Chi Minh thought; policies and policies
