A vegetarian diet is healthier – thus many people prefer it, it is a boom in the
numbers of vegans and vegetarians Although I agree eating only plant foods
provides us with a healthy diet I am not supposed that everyone should stop
eating meat in order to enjoy good health
What exactly “vegetarian”? The similar are stop eating meat or meat-based foods There are six basic different types to approach vegetarianism For instance, vegans, lacto or ovo vegetarians, lacto-ovo vegetarians, pescatarians (Staff, 2019) Most vegetarians fall into the lacto-ovo category, the one who choose to eat plant-based foods on a regular basis such as fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, soy, etc., but do eat animal byproducts, namely yogurt and eggs
Becoming a vegetarian has become more accessible and appealing that people
believe it’s can reduce disease Make sure that you must eat a variety of fruits,
vegetables, and whole grains According to Harvard Health Publishing, “there still aren't enough data to say exactly how a vegetarian diet influences long-term health” There’s some research has shown so far about approach to vegetarianism can reduce risk of cancer, heart disease One of largest studies involve 76,000 participants, points out vegetarians were reduced 25% to die of heart disease In another study, cancers will be reduced by eating more vegetables and fruits (Harvard Health
Publishing, 2009) Plant-based eating is recognized not only nutritionally sufficient but also a way to reduce the risk for many chronic illnesses Moreover, raw spinach
is a great source of Vitamins A, K, E as well as calcium, green leaf contains some vitamins D and K, both needed for bone health Vegans may also need to rely on fortified foods namely soymilk, rice milk, organic orange juice, and breakfast
cereals Consequently, vegetarian consume less saturated fat and cholesterol, provide more vitamins, dietary fiber May reduce risk of cancer, heart disease, or even bones
However, there are some disadvantages to take into consideration before becoming a
Trang 2vegetarian To make daily meals are more balance, must provide calories to get energy by eating meats Since meat is the best source of B12, a vitamin necessary to the nervous and digestive system (Office of Dietary Supplements, 2019) Perhaps the principal one is that if a vegetarian’s daily meal are not properly balanced, they might suffer from a lack of calories to meet their needs Thus, they will feel lethargic and unable to do anything energetic In addition, person who eat meat acknowledge that it does contains nutrients support a role in a healthy diet (Pighin et al., 2016) Meat and other animal products such as milk or eggs are resources of essential
nutrients which human body really needs in order to function properly Without meat, people could face many health problems such as malnutrition or rickets
In conclusion, although healthy, a vegetarian diet is not for everyone and it requires care in the choice of foods and preparation of meals The most important thing is stay healthy by eating balanced diet depending on individual’s health
